Knights on the tracks

Tonight the Summerland Steam come off a 10 day break to host the North Okanagan Knights! The puck drops at 7:30 at the Summerland Arena and tickets to the game are just $5!

These two teams last met on November 19th, a meeting which saw Summerland take a 3-2 lead in the third before allowing the Knights to come back and win 5-3. The Steam will have to learn from their mistakes and not allow 2 more points to slip away as the race in the Okanagan Division remains as tight as ever. These two teams are separated by just a point in the middle of the division, and will both be looking to gain some traction and make up some ground on the division leaders.

Summerland comes into tonight's game off a 10 day break, their last game being a 5-1 win over the Princeton Posse on November 23. The 10 day break couldn't have come at a better time for the team, however, as it allowed a few guys who were banged up a little extra time to work their way back into the lineup. Rylan Sideroff, Jordan Boultbee, and goaltender Darren Hogg are all expected to be back in the lineup tonight after a solid week of practice. Kendall Wilson is still doubtful and is expected to miss a little more time rehabilitating a knee injury that's seen him miss the past 2 games.

It looks like it will be a battle of two of the top goaltenders in the KIJHL tonight as the projected starters are Brett Huber (19GP, 2.53 GAA, .926 SV%) for the Steam and Mitch Profeit (13GP, 2.50 GAA, .920 SV%) for the Knights.

Puck drops at 7:30, tickets are just $5, and it will be a great game full of emotion and energy! Make sure you come out and support JR hockey in your community! If you can't make it to the rink, we'll have all the action available to you on KIJHL.CA starting just before puck drop at about 7:25!
