The Summerland Steam return home this afternoon looking for a solid bounce back effort after a 3-2 loss to the Kamloops Storm last night in Kamloops. The Steam held the lead twice in that game before surrendering the winning goal with 1:55 to play in overtime. Michael Winnitoy and Kienan Scott scored the goals for the Steam, and both will look to continue the offensive push this afternoon.
Today the Spokane Braves come to town. They sit 4th in the Neil Murdoch Division, and come in off two big wins this weekend. on Friday night they took down the North Okanagan Knights before laying a beat down on the Kelowna Chiefs 7-0 last night. Their offense is potent at the moment and the Steam will have to be cognizant of that.
I would expect in back to back games with Darren Hogg taking the net last night that it will be Brett Huber between the pipes for the Summerland Steam this afternoon. Huber has been solid in his 21 games played posting a 2.62 GAA and a .921 Save %. He's kept the Steam close in a lot of games this season, and with how powerful the offense has been for Spokane he may have to do the same again today.
Puck drops at 2PM today and our game day sponsor is your hometown proud Summerland IGA. Make sure you come out to the game and take your chance to be involved in the buggy race during the intermission!
If you can't make it out, we'll have all the action live on KIJHL.ca starting just before puck drop at 2PM!
