THOUGHTS
- Expect a close game. In their last meeting (January 2nd in Summerland) Sicamous picked up a 4-3 win on the exhaust of an extremely fast start. They scored 3 first period goals, including one at the buzzer from 16 year old Nate Plessis, and held on for a 4-3 win.- Korwin Shewchuk recorded the game winner with over 7 minutes to play in the 2nd period, and goaltender Olivier Charest held off the Steam offense in the third period to pick up the W.
- Eagles' leading scorer Samuel Subert missed that game in which his team picked up the win. Expect him in the lineup on Wednesday night and ready to make a difference.
- One area that it would seem Summerland could take advantage is on the powerplay. Sicamous is in the bottom half of the league on home ice when it comes to PK%, but Summerland is also operating at a measly 10% success rate with the powerplay while on the road.
- Expect Brett Huber back in the conversation to start for the Summerland Steam after going 23 days without a start due to a lower body injury. Huber has been on the bench as a backup for the past 3 games but has not seen game action since December 27th in Osoyoos.
- Riley Pettitt should be ready to return to the lineup for Summerland after sitting out the last 3 games with an upper body injury.
Puck Drop is 7PM from the Sicamous & District Recreation Center. You can catch all the action on KIJHL.ca. Steam will head to North Okanagan on Friday and Kelowna on Saturday before hosting the Osoyoos Coyotes on January 27th at 7:30 at the Summerland Arena.
